The Education Bureau announced that all kindergartens, primary and secondary schools (including special schools and schools offering non-local programmes) will continue to suspend face-to-face classroom and on-campus activities from January 10 to the Chinese New Year school holiday.

On 20 July, the Education Bureau announced that classes cannot be started before 17 August due to the currently severe epidemic.

On 3 August, the Education Bureau announced that all schools were free to decide on the school commencement date, but schools are not allowed to offer face-to-face courses. Therefore, the opening day of the Nursery for the year 2020-2021 is scheduled for 17 August.

On 10 July, the Education Bureau announced that summer holidays for primary and secondary schools, special schools and kindergartens in Hong Kong starts earlier from 13 July (Monday).
